Cookies
This website does not set any cookies.
What that means
You do not need to accept or refuse anything to read this site, which is why you have not been shown a cookie banner. Nothing is stored in your browser, and nothing is kept that could be traced back to you.
We do count visits
We want to know which pages people find useful, so we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. We chose it because it counts visits without a cookie. To make it work, your browser loads one small file from static.cloudflareinsights.com, which is the only thing on this site that comes from another company.
These are the things it records about a visit:
- the page address and the site you came from
- your country
- your browser, operating system and whether you are on a phone or a computer
- how quickly the page loaded
In Cloudflare's own words, it "does not use any client-side state, such as cookies or localStorage, to collect usage metrics", and they "don't fingerprint individuals via their IP address, User Agent string, or any other data". Cloudflare also say they never sell your data. We see totals only, and we do not use any of it for advertising.
To be straightforward about one thing: loading that file sends a request to Cloudflare, and like any web request it carries your internet address. That is how the country is worked out. Cloudflare's published position on how long they keep it is not something we can state for you, so if it matters to you, their Web Analytics page is the place to read it.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no sharing with advertising networks.
- No social media buttons that report your visit back.
- No tracking of you across other websites.
- No fonts loaded from other companies. We serve our own, so Google never sees your visit.
Our hosting provider
Our hosting keeps a standard server log of requests, which includes your internet address. That is a normal part of running a website and is used to keep it available and secure. It is not a cookie and it is not used to build a picture of you. Our privacy policy covers how we handle personal information.
If this changes
If we ever add something that needs a cookie, we will update this page first and ask for your agreement where the law requires it.
