Ever since 1999 we have been working with Brokers and MGA’s across a range of insurance lines, providing solutions that enable our clients to achieve specific goals. Our MPACS software has been integrated seamlessly into client businesses, simplifying workflows and making outcomes more achievable – and not always in an insurance context. As a business our goal is to make these effective solutions as widely available as possible, both by expanding our client list and working on new ventures for existing clients. Our most recent project – for ICW Building Control – is a great example of the way that this works in practice and how versatile our offering really is.
ICW Building Control is an approved inspector providing building control services as an alternative to Local Authority Building Control for commercial, residential and minor domestic projects. Our brief was essentially to provide functionality for the logged in areas of the ICW Building Control website where members could complete certain tasks. In order to do this we used MPACS as a backend engine. Though many of our clients and customers will be used to hearing about MPACS in the context of insurance this was a non-insurance application that was the ideal way to showcase just how versatile MPACS really is.
What we built
Using the MPACS infrastructure we were able to add functionality to ICW Building Control’s building control portal. This included:
Simplifying submission of documents and data
For example, enabling ICW Building Control members to submit essential paperwork, such as new building control applications via the portal.
Viewing key information
Using the portal members can now follow the progress of applications that have already been made. It’s also possible to view live projects and to see any contraventions that have been noted.
Carrying out activities that relate to inspections
For example, viewing inspection reports or requesting an inspection date.
MPACS is an incredibly versatile system that enabled us to provide this client with a great deal of efficient functionality that simply wasn’t there before. In addition, the depth of skill and experience at Mandon meant we could develop extra support in the form of designing an app to run on smart devices. This app is a tool for building inspectors and will make the inspection process more connected, transparent and efficient. It can record inspections and automatically produce a report that is instantly available in the portal we’ve created for ICW Building Control members – and can also be seen in MPACS by office administrators.
Mandon has been working with the ICW Group of companies – which has been using MPACS - since 2016. Developing this portal is a prime example of the versatility of the system, which has vast use outside of purely insurance application.
